QLD - Queensland Coastal Wetlands (Mangroves, saltpans, samphire) (DEEDI)

1:100,000 coastal wetland vegetation mapping for the Queensland coastline including mangrove communities, saltpans and saline grasslands. Mangrove areas are classified based on the dominant genus (Ageiceras, Avicennia, Ceriops, Bruguiera, Rhizophora).
This dataset was derived from automatic classification of 25m resolution Landsat TM images, colour aerial photography and ground truthing. The resulting data has a positional accuracy of 100 meters and a classification accuracy of approximately 80%.
Additional metadata and access to the data is available on the Queensland Coastal Wetlands Resources Mapping data, eResearch Archive.
This dataset can be viewed in Google Earth using the following online KML with this legend. Due to the large size of the dataset it can not be made available as a downloadable KML. This KML operates live against the e-Atlas server, requesting imagery for just the area you are viewing. If you get close enough (about an eye alt of 10 km) the map will change to show vectors that you can click on to get region classification and area.
