Wet Tropics - Wet Tropics of Queensland World Heritage Area Zoning Scheme 1998 (WTMA)

Posted on 23 April 2009

This dataset contains polygon features that represent the zoning classification of lands within the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, according to the Wet Tropics Management Plan 1998. The dataset aligns with Department of Environment and Resource Management's Digital Cadastral Database (DERMs-DCDB). This dataset is a working depiction only. For legal confirmation, refer to signed maps held at WTMA office.

The rules and rationale for the generation of each Zone is described in the Wet Tropics Management Plan 1998. This GIS rule based procedure was used to generate the WHAZones using a range of datasets. Horizontal accuracy is at 90% of well-defined detail within +/- 50m of true position. For legal confirmation, refer to signed maps held at WTMA.

For more information see the Zoning System page on the Wet Tropics Management Authority's site.
